If not, don't worry. You're not alone. The paragraph above is complete and utter gibberish. It's called "greeking" and if you're a web designer or graphic artist then you're probably familiar with it. If you're not in the design biz there's a good chance you've seen this on a website and wondered: "What the hell is this? Latin!?"

What is it?

This pseudo-Latinesque nonsense is a placeholder for copy. It's dummy text or "greeking" as it is known by many graphic designers.

Greeking, simply put, is the use of incomprehensible text when prototyping the design of a page. It is used as a "stand-in" for body copy—usually during the initial stages of the design process. However, it may also be employed when developing a template or other instances where the final copy is not available.

Designers use this gibberish to experiment with different fonts, gauge text sizes, visualize how paragraphs will wrap around photos and to get a feel for a particular layout.
